Our Back Story
I have spent most of my life living on the water and boating has always been a passion of mine. Over the years, I have watched the dock industry change. When docks moved from solid all wood construction to aluminum and plastic polymer construction, the focus quickly shifted to building docks as thin and light as possible to reduce weight and cost. Precision, quality, and even safety were often left behind.
Aluminum docks , for the most part, sound hollow and cheaply made under foot. Plastic and polymer docks over-flex and creak under foot with each step. Not to mention that the sun’s UV rays break down these polymers year after year until they weaken and begin to crack. These are unacceptable traits for boat docks engineered by Summit Dock.
At Summit Docks, we set out to change that. We studied the problems, tested countless prototypes, and refined our design to build, what we believe is, the perfect dock. Every Summit Dock is engineered for strength, durability, safety, and beauty. We are Proudly designed and manufactured in the United States of America. All of our aluminum is manufactured in the Midwest US. All of our fiberglass decking is manufactured in the Southwest US. Our engineering, design, and assembly is completed in Michigan, USA.
